Plakota

Plakota is a blended red wine from Vouni Panayia Winery, crafted primarily from two indigenous grape varieties: Mavro and Maratheftiko. Mavro is a widely planted red grape in Cyprus, known for its deep color and fruity flavors, while Maratheftiko contributes complexity with its intense dark fruit flavors and robust tannins. Plakota wines typically exhibit a rich aromatic profile with notes of dark berries, hints of spice, and a touch of earthiness. They are characterized by their medium to full body, balanced acidity, and smooth texture, making them versatile for pairing with a variety of Mediterranean dishes, grilled meats, or enjoyed on their own as a representation of Cyprus' unique winemaking heritage.
